Frequently Asked Questions

What is GREENPORT® International Airport & Technology Center?

GREENPORT® International Airport & Technology Center also known as Central Texas Airport (GIA) is a private international airport providing global general aviation access to the Central Texas region. GIA is surrounded by a technology center which will be one of the premier business campuses in North America. GREENPORT® has a private microgrid with intelligent infrastructures, private utilities including fiber, water, rainwater, renewable energy generation & storage, geothermal, aviation fuel, natural gas, bio gas, hydrogen which allows us to offer some of the cheapest power in Central Texas.

What is the runway length and orientation at GREENPORT®?

GREENPORT® / Central Texas Airport (GIA) has received five FAA Reservation of Airspace and Letters of No Objection from 2007 through the present. Our most recent approval letter is a length of 8,503 ft, a width of 150 ft and will be on a 01/19 alignment. This is parallel runway to Austin Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) which is only 10.25 nautical miles away making it an 11 out of 10 according to the FAA. This allows the ABIA control tower to see our takeoffs/landings and allows us to be the emergency reliever airport for the Central Texas Region. GIA intends to increase the runway length to 10,000 ft allowing us to become a Spaceport to lead the U.S. privatization and commercialization of space being centrically located within the western hemisphere.

What is the development process at GREENPORT®?

Exceptional speed-to-market with owner-controlled development process. No zoning regulations, no building permits, no building plan submissions, no public hearings, no municipal approvals, no height or density restrictions, no F.A.R’s, no parking ratios, no competitive bidding and no RFP requirements. GIA is privately owned, funded and operated which means no U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) oversight. GREENPORT Security Group’s security partner will be the U.S. Customs & Border Patrol and Homeland Security. GIA cannot be nationalized which makes it a private national laboratory, a private ARPA, a private Skunkworks providing a safe agnostic business/technology incubator for private/public corporations, all government/military agencies and any technologies that want to license and deploy their proprietary/patented technologies to individual assets, project phases or the entire project. GREENPORT® will solve several national security demonstrations with EMP proof assets that will exceed both the resiliency and redundancy requirements of DoD and DoE.

What Services will GREENPORT® offer its Tenants?

GREENPORT® will be the exclusive provider of all goods, services and utilities to the captive customer base and tenants it builds out over the lifetime of the project. GREENPORT® will be net-zero, self sustainable, LEEDS Zero, has privatized all of its utilities and will not provide any property easements preventing all third party service providers. GREENPORT® will be installing a private microgrid with intelligent infrastructure as a service and in the future it may allow other third party service providers to pay to use our infrastructures to serve specific tenants.

What will the aviation fuel prices be at GREENPORT®?

GREENPORT® will own its Jet A fuel farm and plans to offer prices at least $2 per gallon lower than other regional sources

What level data centers will GREENPORT® offer?

The design basis for both GREENPORT® International Airport & Technology Center and Emerald Island projects employs energy supply design redundancy to a level needed to meet the requirements of Tier 5 classified data centers. In addition to utility power supply to these facilities, distributed energy systems will provide both prime and back-up power to a local microgrid and, for selected host loads, thermal commodity in the form of chilled water for process and space cooling. The onsite prime power energy systems will employ Combined Heat and Power (CHP) technology in dual fuel natural gas/diesel fired electric power generators with onsite fuel storage to meet the codified DOD resiliency requirements specified in USC 10.a.I.1.e.6, including 14 days of onsite fuel supply. All microgrid utilities are planned for installation in underground utility tunnels that will allow retrofit and installation of additional services over the lifetimes of these projects. This approach provides for updating and improving services as technology continues to change.

A private fiber system owned by GREENPORT® and Emerald Island will be employed at both projects allowing for the use of an exclusive ISP provider for at least the first 10 years. After that, the fiber system may be opened up to other fiber providers who will pay to use the installed infrastructure, offering them access to our seasoned captive customers. An IP Drain may also be considered at GREENPORT for the benefit of CTA’s tenants, including government and military facilities, and the State of Texas. Contracts have been executed and private fiber lines are being installed along Hwy 71 for 157 miles from the Cyrus One in Austin to the Cyrus One in Houston. This new fiber line to GREENPORT® and Emerald Island will have direct access to Texas’s major internet backbone connection points. GREENPORT® plans a secondary fiber optic route along Hwy 290 to connect to the Cyrus One in North Austin and the Cyrus One in North Houston to provide a fully redundant service connection. From those routes, 5+ fiber routes are planned to both developments following major roadways. All fiber infrastructures will be constructed, monitored, physically-secured and cyber-secured to meet or exceed the requirements of U.S. DOD specifications which include EMP proofing.
